Note:The best would be to come a day or two earlier so we can meet and discus our plan while having a dinner in local restaurant.We can also organize you some accommodation. Itinerary Day 1 | Rab-Misnjak- Ilo | 8 Nm
We start our adventure from the ferry bay and paddle Rab E side where we’ll enoy in geological diversity of stone structures. The sea here is so clear that you will sometimes feel like you’re flying.We’ll tell you some more about our Island that have very long and interesting while having a dinner under the stars on the long pebble beach of Ilo situated under the highest top of the Island (408 m).
Day 2 | Podshilo – Lopar – St.Gregory
Our Day starts with a breakfast as usual. We’ll have an amazing view to Velebit massive and distanced Islands that are expecting us. Our first three Nautical miles will take us to the second part of Rab geological park. This half is rich with cliffs but with caves as well. We’ll enter in few of them and enjoy in their colors. The most popular cave is Medova Cave where the Mediterranean monk seal was living.After a swim we’ll paddle further North to Lopar where the white sand beaches are melting with the pine forest and sand dunes made by wind and erosions. This is also a part of geological park.The blue way leads us to a half mile distanced Island of St.Gregory. We’ll have a short rest on the south side and paddle around its E side following the steep cliffs with a lookout on Griffin Vultures. We’ll camp in the main bay surrounded with deer’s and rabbits.
Day 3 | St.Gregory – Prvich - Krk | 7 Nm or 13 Nm option*
With a wake up under the trees we’ll have a short exploration of this Island. We will visit the former Yugoslavian political prison and learn something about it. There are still a lot of buildings left as well as the farm of Fig trees and therapeutic herbs like sage and thyme.
We will than paddle across the canal to the Island of Prvich where we will have a swim. Next paddling will take us across the short canal called Senjska Vrata-the doors of Senj.This way we’ll get to the biggest Croatian Island of Krk**.After few beaches and interesting panorama on places we paddled earlier we’ll arrive to our bay of St. Nicholas.
*The 13 nautical miles option is to go around the rugged and the largest Croatian unsettled Island of Plavnik where we can look for Griffin Vultures but also enjoy in the spectacular cliffs and rock formations. ** There are two biggest Croatian Islands that are sharing the same size in square kilometers. Those are Island of Krk and Cres.
Day 4 | St. Nicholas – Stara Baška - Golden beach |8 Nm
Today we’ll explore Krk beaches and make few swim stops before we get to our camping spot where we’ll enjoy in the view on Island of Plavnik that is our tomorrow task.We’ll also visit the village of Stara Baška settled in the wide bay with a sandy bottom.
Day 5 | Golden Beach - Plavnik | 11 Nm
After few more coves we’ll get to the lighthouse of cape Negrit from where we’ll paddle the 3 Nm long canal.We’ll get to the Island of Plavnik where we will make a stop before we go explore his slopes and cliffs where the Griffin Vultures are nesting.It is just spectacular to see the biggest European bird gliding over you.Their wingspan is almost 3 meters and they can recognize an object from 1000 meters height. We camp on this mysterious Island.
Day 6 | Plavnik – Mali Bok | 10 Nm
Today is our long day in the kayak as we will explore a lot of caves and cliffs where the Griffon Vultures are nesting. First we'll paddle under the cliffs of Plavnik Island and than we'll go across to the Island of Cres- Croatian biggest Island**. There are few great beaches on our way where we will stop for a swim before we reach our camp in the Bay of Mali Bok situated under the historical town of Orlec (Eagle).
** There are two biggest Croatian Islands that are sharing the same size in square kilometers. Those are Island of Krk and Cres.
Day 7 | Mali Bok – Meli | 10 Nm
We’ll spend the next 7 Nm paddling under some more spectacular cliffs filled with Griffon Vultures that are so hard to find because of their color that is melting with the rocks. But once you train your eye you can see the majority of 70 pairs. We’ll enter some of the caves that are home of thousands of bats. The geological history has made this part a unique place to paddle. Today we are entering in the first reserve for Dolphins on the Mediterranean. Our camp is situated in the sandy bay of Meli.
Day 8 | Meli – Kolorat |9 Nm
From the beach of Meli we paddle forward to the completely different surrounding. We'll pass few beaches before we reach the forest of Punta Kriza-Cape Cross. This evergreen part is the area of perfect tranquility with a large and untouched beach, dense forest with hundreds of animals such as deer, fawns, big horn sheep (muflon) and birds like owls and hawks. We paddle this coastline until we reach the bay of Kolorat where we camp with a view on the Island of Rab and Velebit Mountain.
Day 9 | Kolorat – Loshinj | 8 Nm
Today is a bit shorter paddling day. We'll paddle by the beaches of Cape Cross and then we will make a brake just before our crossing of Nerezine canal. We'll need about one hour to get to the proper Camp in the bay of Poljana where they have showers and electricity. Before the sun gets down we'll hike to the town of Mali Losinj where we will explore this little town on foot and have a meal.
Day 10 | 20 km | Loshinj –Orjule | 6 Nm
Our paddling starts a bit earlier today as we will visit the marine institute for exploring and protecting the sea, "Blue World". This non-government association is on the first place for protecting the Dolphins in the Adriatic Sea and after adopting one of the Dolphins we'll paddle to the Island of Orjule where we'll camp. Not far away from these islands is the founding site of the unique bronze statue of Apoksiomen dating back to the 4th century B.C.
Day 11| Orjule-Ilovik | 9 Nm
Today we kayak towards the island of Ilovik passing by the island of St.Peter. These two Islands are divided with 400 meters wide canal and the Ilovik Island have his graveyard built on the Island of St.Peter which is very rare in the world. Due to the car free Island and healthy Mediterranean food the people from Ilovik enjoy a long life expectancy and they are on the second place on the world, right after Okinawa. After visiting the small town we will paddle back to Lošinj Island and camp in a sheltered bay in the pine tree forest where we’ll have our last dinner.
Day 12 |
After breakfast we’ll have a group transfer to Krk airport or we can organize you other transfer to Rijeka ,Zagreb or Zadar.
