This is the ideal tour for all generations and for all those first-time kayakers, regardless of physical condition. Learn about the history of the town of Rab and its surroundings. Route:Banova Villa-below the City Walls-Garfulin-Cape Frkanj-Tunera-St.Eufemia monastery-Škver-Rab.
The duration of the tour is 4 hours and includes passing under the walls of the old town, which the first Roman Emperor, Octavius August, built (September 23, 63 B.C – August 19. 14.) The tour continues to the island of St. Juraj (the island of tears) or locally named Shkoljich and then to the shallow part where the lighthouse (Garfurin) is located. Then you can choose from either jumping from the lighthouse or diving around his hill sides and then we continue toward Mount Frkanj. Following the coastal area we arrive to the newly built perch for tuna-fishermen, in the Bay of St. Euphemia. The braver have the chance to jump from a height of 12 meters. After that we row and pass by a pit where rocks were dug up for producing the lime. We arrive to the very end of the bay which looks like a swamp where there are many birds who hunt for their prey in the shallow end. Finally, we arrive to the Monastery of St. Bernard, which is mentioned under the name St. Euphemia because of the little church that was built in 1237 next to it. This is where we disembark and leave to visit this important historical monument from 1444 when monks inhabited the area. The duration of this tour is around one hour and includes a tour in the gallery of Ambrosie Testen and the ethnological museum.After this spiritual visit and different stories which will take you back in history, we return to the present, rowing back towards Villa Banova by the seaside resort and the town’s promenade which is one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic. Then follows a short break for lunch or dinner, depending on whether you chose the morning or afternoon tour. Our Best selling trip.We start from the Lopar place called Lučica and we paddle toward the high cliffs.We'll be jumping in the Medova Cave from 5 meters high top and than dive out through the turquise cave entry.Our further adventure will take us in magical caves and on the beautiful beaches.We will paddle back once we reach the beach of Mali Žal,just beneath the highest top of the Island(408m).
3- The route around Lopar-Desert Tour
Short description: We'll have a short presentation of the daily programme,while having coffee. We leave by a van to the ferry port in Lopar,where we put down our kayaks and enjoy one of the most wanted adventures requiered by our guests.We'll be passing by some of the most beautiful beaches of our island,and explore some as well,as there are 20 beaches spreaded in 13 coves.Lopar is completely different from the rest of the island because all of its beaches are covered with sand very similar to desert sand-one of its coves is called Sahara.We can also explore archaelogical finds from the Stone Age,Copper Age ,Bronze Age and Iron Age.Seathrough sea,capes,rocks,cliffs, archaeological finds and small islands will make that day complete, because you will learn how to combine your body and soul with nature.Before the end of our spiritual adventure we will stop in front of the group of submarine caves called Medova Buža,hidden in the rocky cliffs.If we get there around sunset we can observe bats getting out of the caves in search for food. 4- LOPAR-MIŠNJAK (through Velebit canal) GEO PARK ISLAND RAB-
Short description: A short presentation while drinking coffee.We leave by van to Rajska plaža (Paradise beach) in Lopar where we put our kayaks in the sea and start rowing benneath the high narrow cliffs which created small sandy beaches in some spots.Our first long break will be in a cove called Mali Žal which is situated benneath the peak of Kamenjak(408 m above sea level).We spend our time enjoying the clearblue sea,or even diving by the edges of the cliffs which gradually come down up to a 60 m depth.After that,we continue rowing towards cascade cliffs of Rapost & Lastavice,passing by Cape Krklant to the Vašapenča cove,where get out and go sightseeing a big passing through between 2 huge rocks that were created by land-slide of a huge part of the hill.While being there,we will discover various fossils of sea urchin,shells and other animals.For those who desire more diving there is a lowely shallow near by called Bili Brak.The shallow is located on 10 m of depth,from where it gently goes down to a depth of 70 m.After that we continue our rowing adventure,and while passing by other coves we come to a little island called Lukovac that orientates us furthermore to a deep cove called Mag. Mag used to be a motocross track about 10 years ago,so the nature had some time to do its work and renew this wonderful beach.One of the oddest things about it is its red-coloured sand which makes a huge contrast against the whiteness of the limestone we come accross so far.After having a longer break we continue rowing to Mišnjak,the final destination of our unforgetable adventure. Short description: A brief presentation will be held while having coffee in our beach bar base.After that we start rowing for 30 min to 1 hour-it depends on your shape and skills-after which we take shorter breaks to refresh in the sea. This combination of rowing and refreshing follows untill we reach the St.Mara cove where we spend around 30 min in resting and relaxing.Then we go towards cape Kalifront,to the large gaps made by the sea which created a beach in a semi-cave.This area is perfect for diving because is situated on a plateau that falls down perpendiculary to a depth of 50 m and is rich in limestone cracks.For those who dont prefer diving we have trekking by the 150 years old lime-kilns which were used for lime-making and are now natural home of different non-poisonous snakes(Rab doesn't have venemous snakes).If you are lucky,you might see some mouflons and does.After cape Kalifront we have around 40 min of easy rowing to our final destination-Mel in Kampor. 6- RAB-BARBAT CHANNEL-MISHNJAK
Besides passing through the Barbat canal,there is also a possibility of passing through the Pag canal following the coast line of the island of Dolin.
Short description: A brief presentation will be held while having coffee in our beach bar base.After that we start rowing for 30 min to 1 hour-it depends on your shape and skills-after which we take shorter breaks to refresh in the sea. We continue rowing and having breaks untill we reach Pudarica,where we will spend around two hours in resting and enjoying the isolated gravel beaches.There is possibility of going to the island of Dolin which is opposite to Pudarica,and climb up to its peak Samotrac(117 m above sea level).After that we have some more rowing to two small rocky islands that are situated on the upper cape of Dolin,after which we take course towards cape Gabar and furthermore to Mišnjak where our adventure ends. 7- PUDARICA-MIŠNJAK- FIORD ZAVRATNICA(Nature Park Velebit on mainland)
Short description: We have a short presentation while having coffee.We go by van to Pudarica where we put down our Kayaks and start rowing by the red beaches of cape Gabar towards Mišnjak.We pass through the Velebit canal(up to 101 m depth) and reach the Zavratnica fjord which is situated on land and it is under the administration of the Nature Park Velebit.We spend our time in diving around the sunken Army transporter ship and climbing up to the peak of the hill above the fiord where we enjoy the beautful view on the islands of Rab,Pag,Lošinj and other several small islands. We continue rowing,following the coast line towards Stinica and we cross the Velebit canal again and reach the cove Mag.At Mag we relax by diving, swimming ,volley ball,frisbie.... Our final destination is Mišnjak,where we take out our kayaks and go back with a van. 9- SUPETARSKA DRAGA-CAPE SORINJ-SUP.DRAGA
Short description: While having morning coffee, we introduce you to our route. We leave by van to the lower Supetarska Draga where we put our kayaks in the sea and start the sightseeing and enjoying the nature. We will visit 3 fascinating little islands which are situated at the entrance of the cove. Sailovac,Srednjak and Maman are sandy islands connected with shallow water. We will stop on each of them so we can get to know them. After that we head towards the Vardaška cove, and the cape Sorinj where we will enjoy bathing and diving in the sea. An archaeological sight with ancient amphoras is situated there, and the importance of the sight is clear if we point out that National Geographic wrote about it. If there is not high traffic at sea, we might see some dolphins. After bathing and exploring we head back towards Supetarska Draga, where our adventure ends. 11-LOPAR-AROUND St.GRGUR- SAN MARINO
Short description: We have coffee and a short presentation of the programme. We leave by van to San Marino or Lopar where our little kayak adventure begins. We pass by sandy beaches and capes where the sea bottom can be seen till up to 20 meters. We pass the Rab kanal by the cape Šilo and reach the island of Sv. Grgur where a women political prison used to be. After the Grgur cove we go ahead, rowing next to the naked northern side which is rich in sharp, narrow cliffs and great depths. We pass by two capes after which we reach the southern side of this beautiful island rich with animal life. When we get our last impressions we go back to cape Šilo and San Marino. 12- LOPAR-AROUND NAKED ISLAND-LOPAR
Short description: While having coffee we introducde you to our route. We leave by van to Lopar where we go to Goli Otok by boat, to the Tetina cove. Then we put our kayaks in the sea and start rowing towards Vela Draga cove, over the Šparožinje area and cape Blažina to Galeb islands, and the Mali Goli island. This group of limestone islands are very white, thanks to the salt that glues to them because of the strong northern wind (up to 250km/h). Then we continue rowing to cape Tanki and the two coves called Vela Senjska and Mala Senjska. There we will freshen up in an always cool sea, go around the cove a bit and then move ahead towards cape Makronj and the little beaches above which we will see the highest peak of Goli Otok called Glavina. Opposite to Makronj there is a depth of 102 meters. By following the coast we will pass beneath high narrow cliffs and reach the Macanj rock where we stop for some diving. After enjoying this area we go forward to the Veli Brig rock and the lighthouse situated on cape Sajalo. Then there is the Melna cove, which is half way to our destination where we get off of our kayaks and go to sightseeing of what is left of the notorious prison, for which even the Amnesty International didn't know it existed while it was working, and it wasn't marked on the maps. Here, a whole new story begins, a story that lasts up until the dinner in a restaurant on the coast.
